Political dynasties in India : wheres India heading

Offlate India has been talking about the youth coming into politics. To name a few, the most prominent amongst them being rahul gandhi, sachin pilot, jyotiradhiya scindia, etc.. etc.. It has often been talked that these would lead to uplifting of Indias international imaging.

Researching a litle about these emimnent personalities i came acros an article about sukanya devi who incidently claims that shes been gang raped by rahul gandhi & frienz.. the truth of the incident is not determined, but irrespective of the fact whether its true or not the kind of treatment the media & congress party workers have inflicted upon the victim n her mother is really disturbing. Being a resident of an independent country this women definitely has the rights to levy allegations against Gandhi , proved true or not is an altogether different matter. Sonia gandhi who claims to be one of the greatest sacrificers of the nation could have utilised this incident to further raise her brand equity by allowing a free trail. But this was not to happen, poor victim n her mother had to flee into anonymity. adding to their woes was the place that they belonged to Amethi, where people are fanatics , its a sure shot constituency of the congress family.
shifting focus to the role of free and powerful media, there hollow identity has definitely been revealed. Those 24 hr channels that continue reporting worthless news pieces half the day cudnt give evn a single news slot to the victim, which in case of being true wud hv dispelled the false myths built around rahul gandhi who might be a PM of the country in the coming years not because he s capable of it but because of his illustrous family.

Thats not all the new face of India, the youth in politics are all descendents of great politicians not even one of them is a leader whose from a non politics background. this simply depicts the dynasty system that has become a feature of our politics.

Jawahar lal nehru -> Indira gandhi -> rahul gandhi-> sonia gandhi n now comes rahul gandhi ... looking at the chain of these politicians it doesnt appear to be a democratic nation rather the trend is more towards monarchy.

The reasons for this situation to occure are plenty. To name a few :

- The word politician envisages an old, tired and worn-out individual but, in general, we hardly think of youngsters as politicians. Many of us regard politics as "quicksand" where if one gets in, will never be able to come out. Due to this wrong notion, politics is definitely not one among the diverse career options chosen by the youngsters.

-The only aim of young men and women to settle down in life through a well paid job and a happy married life.

-A very less number actually possess a voter identification card and even lesser number actually go to vote, all of which results in a degraded majority and a wrong party on power. And then, with a frown on their face, the same youngsters moan," Our country will never change".

- Ironically, the media too feels so and concentrates more on presenting what the youngsters are `interested in' and accordingly, their interest does not lie in the "Indo-US nuclear deal" or Assembly elections and apparently, lies more in Salman-Aishwarya break up or Tom Cruise's forthcoming movie.

- Societal point of view, the reason for lack of interest in politics among the youngsters is their parents and elders. They feel that politics is not their cup of tea and that they would rather want their sons and daughters to have a secure life. In other words, they want their children to choose a career that has more security and more potential, i.e. a good job with good money. Due to this, many ebullient youngsters who have the real potential to change the political scenario of the country, sit in their air-conditioned offices, doing a more "secure" job and deriding and despising the politics of the country. Of course they disparage the politicians too.

The situation needs to be changed and youth must remeber

" One act of defiance-- can spark a revolution".
